Legacy Model Three — nocturne
Today marks an important milestone for /myōōz/guitars.
After months of design exploration, material testing, and refinement, we are proud to introduce the Legacy, Model Three — a guitar that pushes the language of the original puzzle design into a new, more expressive direction.
A First Encounter
During her The Living Vault Tour, Hannah Wicklund made a stop at the shop.
She became the first to see it — and the first to play it.
That moment mattered. Not just because of who she is as an artist, but because Model Three is built to be experienced in the hands. Her immediate reaction, her connection to the instrument — it confirmed that this design speaks the way I hoped it would.
The Concept
Model Three continues the core idea behind /myōōz/guitars — a surface that is not applied, but constructed.
The puzzle pattern remains at the heart of the instrument, but here it is framed and contrasted in a more dramatic way:
- A central puzzle core built from carefully selected hardwoods
- Framing elements that emphasize structure and movement
- Wings that introduce depth and contrast, often through high-gloss epoxy or alternative materials
This interplay creates a visual and tactile contrast — matte and gloss, organic and fluid — that shifts depending on light and angle.
An Evolving Series
Model Three is not a fixed design.
It is an evolving series — a platform that allows different expressions of the same form through material, color, and surface treatment.
Each variation reveals a different personality of the instrument, while staying true to the underlying structure.
The Five Finishes
Model Three launches with five distinct finishes:
- Nocturne — deep black, mirror-like depth
- Emberloom — dark burgundy with gentle tonal variation
- Deepweave — rich green with layered depth
- Alba — clean, light, soft ivory with minimal contrast
- Brun — natural walnut, defined wood grain and organic texture
Each finish shifts the emotional character of the guitar — from bold and modern to organic and grounded.
Tone & Components
At its core, Model Three is built to sound as intentional as it looks.
It is equipped with hand-wound 1959-style PAF pickups by Pete Flynn, chosen for their clarity, warmth, and dynamic response. These pickups capture the nuance of the instrument while staying true to the tonal heritage that inspires this work.
Other features include:
- A 25.5” scale length for clarity and articulation
- A wraparound bridge, carefully positioned for optimal intonation
- Stainless steel frets with a smooth, rounded feel
- A hand-shaped neck profile designed for comfort and control
- An oil-based finish that preserves the natural feel of the wood
Every decision is made to balance feel, tone, and visual identity.
Built with Intention
Lime the previous models, each Model Three is built by hand, one at a time.
This is not about volume — it’s about focus. Every piece of wood, every joint, every surface is considered as part of a larger story.
The goal is not just to build a guitar, but to create an instrument that feels personal, lasting, and connected to something deeper — tradition, craft, and expression.
Looking Ahead
Model Three marks a new chapter for /myōōz/guitars.
It expands the language of the original design while opening the door to future variations. As this series evolves, each instrument will carry its own identity — shaped by materials, finishes, and the hands that play it.
This is just the beginning.
Inspired by tradition, built for legacy.
